Purpose, Vision and
Values
Purpose: To love the Lord our God with all our hearts, with all our souls, with all our minds and all our strength and to love all people as ourselves
We have a fourfold vision which is to be a church that is:
- a loving family
- building people of character
- encircled by prayer
- active in mission through servanthood
Our Values
1.
To be a family in
Christ - relationships
To encourage strong and
significant relationships with each other that encourage and support us.
2.
People being built up
in Christ - lifestyle
To provide an
environment, teaching and structure that enable people to grow in their
Christian lives.
3.
Building relationships
outside/embracing the community - outreach
To actively encourage
people to make and maintain relationships with those in the community and
our personal contacts. To maintain contact with community groups.
4.
Children fully
integrated into the church - its present and future
To positively involve
the children in our weekly worship and welcome them into our fellowship
being tolerant of their childlike characters. To provide a well led and
an active Kids Club, that encourages Christian growth in our children.
5.
People being drawn to
Christ
A commitment to do all
we can to obey Christ’s command to make disciples. We recognise the
importance of building significant relationships and being aware of
people’s real needs.
6.
True worship
To ensure our worship
extends to our whole Christian experience. In our services to appreciate
that the whole service is one of worship and that our worship in song must
honour God, be accessible to all and use the best of all music traditions.
7.
No limits
To recognise that God
is sovereign and that we should not limit what he can do amongst us.. We
also encourage membership of anyone from any geographical location.
8.
God’s gifting by His
Spirit
The gifting of
individuals by the Holy Spirit and the appointing by the Holy Spirit of
officers and ministers is fundamental to the fellowship’s proper
functioning. Opportunity will be given for all members to exercise their
Spiritual gifts for the building up of the fellowship.
9.
Concern for the whole
of humanity - expressed through our support of specific groups
To ensure that we
actively support a range of Christian and secular groups who work all over
the world to bring Christ’s compassion and mercy to the world.
10.
Strength in
organisation
The ensure we have the
best organisation that ensures the vision and values of the fellowship are
delivered.. To be the local church operating with sound Biblical
principles
