Small Groups
Small groups are an intimate expression of church that seeks to deepen friendships and spiritual experience. Small groups meet in peoples’ homes and are an interactive opportunity to challenge, question and be real, in an enjoyable and relaxed environment.
There are a variety of midweek small groups (scroll to the bottom of this page)but we spend the third Sunday of each month in various homes, having lunch together in our small groups at approximately 1pm. This follows our meeting in the library.
The Sunday Groups are:
Spring Rain- led by The Quintons and held at various homes.
This is a
place of relaxation, with time to worship, support each other,
discuss various issues and then enjoy lunch together.
More Than- led by the Maxwells and
held at the Cordon’s home on Quickley Lane. The group aims to
get to know each other better. We explore new models (or fresh
expressions) of 21st century Church. Children and little ones are especially
welcome in the group. The youth are also a part of this group.
The
Fringe - led by the Pages and normally held at their
home in Berry Lane. Many of the people who come to The Fringe
are not that involved with traditional mainstream Church. We
meet for a laid back discussion and prayer first and then have
lunch together - some people just come for lunch and that's
fine! Children are welcome - its all pretty relaxed.
We have looked at:
• What it means to be a Christian in today's society
• Contemporary and Celtic spirituality, mission, hearing from
God
• Exploring themes from the “emerging church” (also known as
Fresh Expressions)
• Film and discussion nights - we've recently watched the films
Dogma and My Beautiful Son
This group is challenging to those who call themselves
Christians and provides an open door to those exploring their
relationship with God.
